Downscaling is the answer ... and living life for now instead of worrying what's around the corner all the time. I like this post too, it once again made me think. One downside of working from home, and part-time, and earning a fraction of what my spouse does, is that I think he feels a (real or imagined) pressure to provide that keeps him working even longer hours than he would ordinarily do. And that's a pity - for him, and for his relationship with his child. Otherwise I am pretty comfortable with my choice, most days.
